Getting Started with HostWP.io

Creating an account and setting up your first WordPress website on HostWP.io is similar to any other cPanel-based hosting provider.

Step 1: Create an Account with HostWP.io

Pick a plan that best suits your needs.

On the next screen, choose your “Domain” preference.

If you don’t have a domain yet, you can register your domain with HostWP.io.

When you see the below screen, we suggest adding all three to your cart.

  1. DNS Management
  2. ID Protection
  3. Email Forwarding

If you already bought the domain and want to Transfer it to HostWP.io, choose “Transfer your domain from another registrar” OR choose “I will use my existing domain and update my nameservers.”

It will take you to the Order page. Choose your “Billing Cycle” and hit the Continue button.

Note: Under the “Categories” section on the left, you can choose the location to host your WordPress websites.

On the Checkout page, double-check your order details and apply a promo code if you have any.

On the next page, fill in your details to create an account on platform.hostwp.io to access your billing area, support, manage subscriptions, etc.

After completing your order, you’ll be able to log in to platform.hostwp.io

Note: If you ordered the domain as well, it would take a few hours to verify and process your domain. However, you’ll get the cPanel/hosting access immediately.

Step 2: Access Your Account

After successful payment, you will be redirected to your “Client Area”, where you can manage your account, get support, download invoices, order new services, and more.

Step 3: Get Your cPanel Login Details

Once your order has been completed, you’ll receive cPanel login details on your registered email address:

Note: Check your spam/junk folder too.

Alternatively, you can view Email History from inside your portal.

Step 4: Connect Your Domain

Login to your Domain Registrar, and add the Nameservers mentioned in the email above. They will be usually in this format: ns1.hostwp.io, ns2.hostwp.io.

Note: The DNS propagation may take up to 24 hours (usually, it takes a few minutes).

After some time, check your Nameservers from WhatsMyDNS. Enter your domain, select “NS” from the dropdown and click Search.

Once the HostWP Nameservers start populating in multiple countries, this confirms your domain is now running from HostWP.io.

Alternatively, if you prefer not to update your nameservers, you can create an A record with your DNS registrar using the IP address found in your cPanel dashboard:

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Locate the IP address in the top-right corner under “General Information.”
  3. Go to your DNS registrar’s website (from where you bought your domain).
  4. Create a new A record with the IP address.

This method allows you to maintain control over your DNS settings while still pointing your domain to our hosting.

Click the “Install” button and fill in the required details.

Scroll down a bit to tweak more settings according to your needs.

Once done, hit the “Install” button at the very bottom.

It will take a few seconds to install WordPress on your domain, and you will get access to the WordPress URL and its admin URL.
